Since then, this dynamic duo has captured 300+ weddings (though they’ve lost count) everywhere from Italy to right here in San Diego. With a sisterhood-level connection, they bring the perfect balance: Alyss with her joy + moxie, Cate with her fire + gusto. Together? Nothing short of a badass time—and images that are truly one of a kind.

Our Honey Bees bring a certain je ne sais quoi to every wedding they touch.
Salomé, Christine, and Miranda pair exceptional technical skill with an innate warmth and a can-do spirit that keeps everything running smoothly. Each has been meticulously trained in our signature Honey approach, from our artistic eye and directing style to handling the unpredictable moments that wedding days always deliver.
What truly sets them apart, though, is the Honey touch: humor, joy, and grace woven into every frame. They’re here to curate an experience that feels effortless and authentic, so you can hug your grandma, dance with your people, and live fully in the moment while they capture it all.

Weakness: laughs at every joke…Salomé's decade of photographing San Diego couples hasn't dulled her ability to make each wedding unique.
Her joyful presence on the big day is infectious and her artistic eye captures unexpected beauty. She infuses her portraits with an editorial flair that makes couples feel like works of art.
Salomé's editing process is inspired by a diverse range of music, from Talking Heads to Post Malone. She's always open to new experiences, but an old-fashioned cocktail will always hold a special place in her heart.

Strength: rainy day? pitch black room? NBD.
Weakness: will cry if you cry during toasts
Christine excels in natural light, but give this queen a pitch-black room, or a twinkly light tunnel, and she’ll give you A MASTERPIECE. Throw in some laughs and true YOU-ness to your images, because Christine is a master in getting to know who you truly are in under an hour.
When she’s not slaying it left and right at weddings, she’s most likely to be reading a book in a coffee shop, overanalyzing word choices, or scrolling endlessly back through text messages to prove a point.

Miranda
Strength: No stress. All chill.
Weakness: The dessert tableColor-obsessed and ready to party on that dance floor, it’s no wonder that Miranda’s priority is for couples to have a bold, fun BLAST on their wedding day. She takes a hands-on approach to keep everyone around her happy – from the couple, family and friends, and vendors, too.
She lives out her belief that weddings should be the truest and beautiful representation of individual stories – not just some pretty gallery in someone’s portfolio.
In Miranda’s free time, you can find her reading or napping outdoors on her inflatable couch, or off enjoying her next adventure with her husband.

What’s the difference between booking The Queen Bees vs The Honey Bees?
When booking The Queen Bees, you’ll be working with Alyss and Cate as a team of 2 lead photographers, bringing our unique energy, approach, and style that comes naturally after having worked weddings together for 6 years… or what feels like forever.
Should The Queen Bees be unavailable or outside your budget, we have our trained, highly qualified team of lead associates, The Honey Bees, ready to love on you and take gorgeous photos on your wedding day. You still receive 2 photographers with associate coverage, and that second photographer will be assigned closer to the wedding date as opposed to during your booking.
Do we still get the signature Honey Photographs experience and editing style?
Absolutely! When you book an associate, your experience pre- and post-weddings are the same with every Honey couple. You’ll still get access to all of Honey’s wedding day prep information, and questionnaires via Alyss with your Honey Bee photographer included in all communication should you have specific details or concerns you’d like to express to your photographer.
Post-wedding day, your associate photographer will deliver your images to the Honey Photographs studio where Alyss herself safely backs up the files in multiple places, processes them with the signature Honey editing style you see on our website, and delivers your gallery within the promised, standard Honey Photographs timeline.
Who will be our photographer if we book The Honey Bees?
After your initial call with Alyss, a photographer is chosen for you based on your needs, personality, and venue. We aren’t out here hiring random strangers to show up on your wedding day. Your lead photographer will be either Salomé, Christine, or Miranda.
Each of our amazing photographers has a tight-knit, loved pool of photographers who they have built close relationships with while photographing weddings together over the years. As we get closer to your wedding date, your lead photographer will book a trusted, experienced second photographer to join them in capturing your day.
