Kayla + Sam * Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding

Timeless Beach Scripps Seaside Forum Wedding in La Jolla, Ca

You ever meet a couple and you’re like, damn, now there’s a couple who loves each other? Meet Kayla and Sam. I feel like I could write a love song simply based on how they looked at each other. We’re talking about the kind of look romance movies write about, that could cure all things, and keeps a couple together for eight years before they lovingly commit to forever. I mean, when the bride greets you with the biggest hug and the groom greets you with so many laughs talking about the socks that he wanted to wear... ones with middle fingers that said, "STAY AWAY”, you know it’s going to be a special day.

Speaking of special… Sam, Kayla, Sam's best man and his wife, and the maid of honor (who is Sam's sister), all knew each other from elementary school!! Which just helps to paint the scene for the fake ‘first look’ that Kayla orchestrated to help ease Sam’s nerves before they shared the sweeeeeetest most authentic moment together. At one point I asked if they wanted portraits before heading out, and they said that they'd "love to just be together" because it was so calming and relaxing. BLESS.

TLDR: All those first look images are just them naturally together and I’m obsessed with their love for each other.

For Sam and Kayla, it’s all about the moments. The intimate, quiet, peaceful moments together, a mom’s embrace, the flashes of smiles of their friends, a best friend’s belly laugh, listening to their family and friend’s speeches as they bask in the sunset on the bluff… all of it. From their first dance (cue the tears) to Kayla’s dad’s speech (cue more tears) where he shared all the times he knew Sam was the one to take care of his daughter, these two live for the moments. They really wanted their wedding to be a true coming together under the sunset on the beach and the bluff, and WOW did their day deliver!

Kayla and Sam, while I can’t write you a love song as beautiful as the one you two danced to, I can capture the sweet moments only you two and your people could create. May you always focus on each other the way you did on your wedding day. Here’s to 80 more years of you love birds being present and looking at each other the way you do!
